“Tass” a well known dish in the Nepalese Restaurant industry and a great compliment snack for the drink. It has been our favorite snacks since ages. If we turn over the pages of the history, we can know that this fine cuisine is the invention of our own Nepalese brother, Mr. Govinda Tiwari. Initially he migrated from Pokhara to Narayanghat for the better life and opportunity. Where, he established a small shop for the breakfast and dinner. Then with the flow of the time with much up’s and down in his life he finally decided to gamble. The gambling was preparing his new dish and serving it to the customers. Hence he named it “Taas”.
Initially he started the business by producing 5 kg of “Mutton Tass”. He served it to the customers and the feedback he got after that encouraged him to continue this business. The preparation of this fine cuisine requires 12 different kinds of spices and Mr. Govinda Tiwari produces these spices by himself at his home. He gets the supply of the meat from India, as he complains that he couldn’t get constant supply of the quality meat here in the country.
Now he serves Tass to all the Kathmandu people from Chitwan and has also opened his own branch at Anamnagar, named Bhetghat Restaurant, all the supplies (marinated meat) comes via air and are served to you within few minutes and the taste is just scrumptious. The necessary ingredients to prepare this cuisine are all brought from Chitwan including oil, salt, spices and everything. If you are really looking to have a Tass Set of Chitwan then guys now you don’t need to go to Chitwan to get this, you have our own “Bhetghat Restaurant” serving you with the finest Tass of the Chitwan what else do you need.
Lastly hat’s off to Mr. Govinda Tiwari who started his business with in such a small scale and now he’s employed over 100 people under his terrace and give support to their families.
